Hélène Paul, has been a photographer since the
young age of 11. She took various photography
courses before finally enrolling in a 3 year intensive
program at the Dawson Institute of Photography, where she
learned all the skills needed to become a fully qualified
professional commercial photographer, and spent the best years
of her life, learning from the very best photography
instructors in our country. In 1991, Hélène
graduated from the Institute of Photography in the higher
ranks, and also successfully completed a 2 1/2 year
pre-university program in Creative Arts, after which she spent
1 1/2 years working as a professional photo lab technician in
one of Canada's most reputed professional photo labs,
Corlab. This is where she learned to truly master black
& white photography. Coming from a long line of artists and
artisans, Hélène found a real passion in
photographing artists and their art. She has created work in a
wide variety of areas, has been exhibited, published and
has won numerous 1st place awards in Photography, drawing
& painting, and crafts. Her work has been recognized
internationally. Her experience in photography has helped her
immensely with video filming; another passion she has been
involved with since 1991. She completed a workshop in
16mm film at Mainfilm, in Montreal in 2000 and moved on to
